I don’t know about you guys but I love the classic biscuits and gravy! I always use this recipe for my biscuits just because they are so fluffy and good. If you don’t want to make biscuits from scratch using store bought biscuits is perfectly fine as well. Just be sure the biscuits don’t have any dairy products in it.
2 C flour
1 and 1/4 TBS baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
1 C vegan milk (Any vegan milk will work just make sure it’s not sweetened.)
4 TBS vegan butter, cold
4 Tbsp vegan butter
4 Tbsp flour
2 1/2 C vegan milk
A few pinches of salt
1 Tbsp cracked black pepper (Feel free to add more, I always do)
I attached a link above to the biscuit recipe that I use but I’ll go ahead and mention how to do it step by step. First, you want to preheat your oven to 425 F. Mix all the dry ingredients together.
Then you’ll want to cut your butter into the dry ingredients.
Then make a well and add your milk and gently mix together with your fork.Gently knead the dough for about 30 seconds and then pull pieces off and place on a greased baking sheet. Bake for 12 minutes or until you get the desired color.
Melt butter in a medium sized pan and then add flour. Once your butter and flour mixture is combined slowly add milk and whisk.
You want to continue whisking until the mixture has thickened. Add salt and pepper and then serve! If you are a little impatient when it comes to whisking to make the gravy thick you can add a tsp of cornstarch to help with that process. Also, adding vegan sausage to this recipe is always good, I didn’t have any this morning so I skipped that.
